Hughes and Salvidge were appointed to the role of Demolition Contractor working for Galliford Try for strip-out and internal demolition works within the Satellite 1 building at London Stansted Airport.
This London demolition project was a 10-week programme stripping out flooring, ceilings, lounges and toilet facilities both airside and landside.
The area of works was within a live airport environment. Due to this fact, all noisy operations and removal of waste were carried out with utmost care to ensure our works had no impact on passengers, Airport staff or Airport operations. This included the prevention of dust arising from works and escaping debris.
We completed our works under Galliford Try and MAG working procedures and permit systems and worked in close communication with the Airport operations team to ensure the smoothly running of the project.
Access to demolition areas was controlled at all times by our Site Supervisor and all personnel on site were required to hold full or temporary airside passes. Visitor were escorted if not in possession of a pass.
