Dismantling and Asset Recovery
Hughes and Salvidge are highly experienced in the careful dismantling of plant, equipment, and structures for recovery, re-installation or disposal.
As part of our complete demolition solution, our experts are well versed in dismantling and asset recovery. Dismantling is often chosen when there is a need to preserve specific architectural features, salvage reusable or valuable materials, or simply when a more controlled and less disruptive demolition process is preferred. This process aims to maximise resource efficiency, reduce waste, and generate additional revenue from recovered assets.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
What others had to say about our dismantling and asset recovery services.
"The works were carried out in a professional, efficient and competent manner. I would highly recommend Hughes & Salvidge for similar works." Project Manager at Balfour Beatty
"Myself and the Welsh Government were very happy with how the job progressed and the service we received. The site was always in good order and there were very little complaints received. The job overran the original programme but we were kept well informed of this and there was no impact to the client." Project Manager at Welsh Government.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank one and all at Hughes and Salvidge, who were on site and also those working behind the scenes, who contributed to a flawless demolition. All my communications with your organisation have been handled in an exigent and very professional manner" Project Manager at James Knight of Mayfair.
"We’re reliable, friendly and trustworthy, providing knowledge and reassurance at all times. We empower our partners to make informed decisions through jargon-free communication. Our friends know that no demolition project is insurmountable for us and we always make the difficult, look easy“

WHAT OUR EXPERTS SAY
ACCREDITED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS
We take great pride in our extensive list of certifications and accreditations, earned through rigorous assessments and adherence to industry best practices. These credentials not only showcase our commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and efficiency but also serve as a testament to our unwavering dedication to executing demolition projects with precision and excellence.
Our dismantling and asset recovery Process
We are longstanding members of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC), exemplifying a dedication to quality and assurance. We weave health and safety, along with environmental best practices, seamlessly into the fundamental aspects of our core activities. We believe in providing the safest, most practical and cost effective solution for strategic decommissioning.
All activities undertaken by Hughes and Salvidge will be in accordance with the approved programme of work, phased operations and safe demolition techniques and the activities will be planned and undertaken in line with the Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Project Health and Safety Plan and Environmental Plan.
Assessment and Planning
We begin by evaluating the structure to determine which components can be salvaged, reused, or sold. From there, we can then develop a detailed plan for dismantling and asset recovery, considering factors such as safety, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.
Selective Demolition
We will then carefully dismantle the plant, equipment, and structures for recovery, re-installation or disposal. Our team employs advanced techniques and equipment to ensure precise dismantling while minimising disruption to surrounding areas.
identifying and Salvaging assets
Our specialists will then use specialised equipment and techniques to identify and extract valuable equipment and components, such as steel beams, copper wiring, machinery, and fixtures. These items are sorted, cleaned, and prepared for reuse or resale.
Documentation and Reporting
We’ll maintain detailed records of dismantling and asset recovery activities, including inventory lists, sales transactions, and disposal documentation. This comprehensive report will then be provided to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities as required.
Site Cleanup and Restoration
The remaining debris, rubble and demolition waste will then be removed, restoring the site to a safe condition. Implementation of land remediation may be necessary at this stage to mitigate any adverse impacts on the site.
FINAL INSPECTION and site handover
A final inspection will then be conducted to verify that all demolition activities have been completed to the required standards and that the site meets safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Any outstanding issues or concerns are addressed promptly to ensure client satisfaction and compliance.
