Hughes and Salvidge are the only demolition contractor to have a permanent on-site presence at Heathrow Airport with offices based there since 1998. Working airside and landside we are experienced in working on sensitive live sites.

Our airport demolition division has been engaged on airport projects since 1998 and provides specialist demolition, dismantling and strip out services to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Our success in this sector is due several key factors. These include experience, outstanding main contractor relationships and meeting client expectations.

Keith Cannin, Operations Director for Balfour Beatty commented “Balfour Beatty has worked with Hughes and Salvidge for over ten years at Heathrow Airport. During that time they have carried out many projects of varying complexity, from the truncation of Pier 3 in a heavily trafficked operational area in close proximity to Aircrafts to the technically challenging deconstruction of T1 Europier.

Hughes and Salvidge have completed the demolition of the Old Control Tower, which had many constraints that were critical to Heathrow’s existing infrastructure. There are many more projects they have undertaken and on every project they carried out for us they acted in an exemplary manner, with safety being at the top of their agenda.

We choose Hughes and Salvidge again and again because of their technical expertise together with their personnel, with whom we have great trust. They are the best, safest and technically competent demolition contractors that I have worked with in my 30 years’ experience.”
