The Largest Of It’s Kind

We started on site in Abingdon a few weeks ago, getting welfare units situated and temporary fencing in place. The project, on Sutton Courtenay Lane, encompasses various buildings and structures including dog kennels, above ground tanks, a security hut and a pumping station. The site also contains the largest Northlight building in the UK, which is also set to be demolished.

Northlight structures are specifically designed to maximise the amount of light streaming into the building.

The project itself involves the removal of asbestos-based materials, soft stripping of all structures and the demolition of all buildings. Hughes and Salvidge will also take up all slabs and foundations and crush all hard materials, removing them from site prior to completion.

With plenty of interesting parts of the site being knocked down, we'll be regularly updating our news feed with details from the site.
