Corunna Barracks Project Comes Under The Spotlight
Luke Gould 16th November 2015
In a couple of our most recent blog posts we have mentioned the demolition work we have been carrying out at the former Corunna Barracks in Ludgershall.
The 32-week-long project commenced this summer on behalf of Aspire Defence Services.
The barracks is a secure area with photo identification required to access the old army base, however, we recently gave aerial video specialists Demovision permission to come and film the demolition of the site.
Much of the footage centres on the high-tech Hyundai HX260L that we added to our fleet of machinery a few months ago.
You can watch it in operation as we conduct a soft stripping of structures, structural demolition of buildings down to floor slab level and floor slab and foundation removal to structures located in the first phase of the works.
We have our asbestos removal team present on site to ensure traffic movements are co-ordinated and segregation is put in place. Any noise generated has also been kept to a minimum whilst working in close proximity to the neighbouring properties that surround the north east and west side of the site.
You can watch the full film produced by Demovision here: https://youtu.be/OmZZnTtgIew.
Demovision also have a Twitter account and you can follow their work on Instagram where they have uploaded imagery from their time on site.
