Hughes And Salvidge Makes Donation To Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

Like most Britons, we have been horrified by the devastating images in Nepal after the country experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake a month ago, followed by a second tremor, killing over 8,000 people.

Thousands of those who survived the earthquake now find themselves homeless and desperately trying to rebuild their lives, and their nation.

As ever when such distressing events unfortunately occur, the generosity of the British people in terms of providing relief has been incessant and when Hughes and Salvidge was asked to make a monetary contribution we equally showed no hesitation.

News of the quake became public when our team of demolition specialists were in the process of working at the Project Wellesley development in Aldershot, situated in the borough of Rushmoor.

Rushmoor just so happens to be home to Britain’s largest Nepalese community where around 10,000 Nepali’s reside.

It was then the idea of Grainger, the project leaders, to ask each of the other five companies involved in the scheme to pledge money to the earthquake fund, and we, together with everyone else, donated £500 each.

The £3,000 raised between ourselves, Grainger, Carey’s, Bellway, Millgrove and Mayer Brown was presented to the Greater Rushmoor Nepalese Community Group last week.
