In May 2011, Hughes and Salvidge successfully tendered for the demolition of the HJK buildings and associated extensions for this global producer of speciality and intermediate chemical products.
As part of the Clarifoil operations on the Spondon
Site, a series of plant modifications were being carried out to enable the Clarifoil business unit to become self sufficient and independent from the rest of the plant.
We undertook asbestos surveys, re-routing of services, removal of plant and machinery and careful and controlled demolition of the buildings. The adjacent buildings remained operational and due to production processes taking place, hot cutting methods were restricted therefore cold cutting techniques were utilised in the deconstruction process.
The competence and expertise of our management, the excellent past working relationship with the client, together with our cost effective quote secured this work.
