Hughes And Salvidge Clears The Way For New Waitrose Branch

The lead-up to Christmas is traditionally a busy time of year for the team at Hughes and Salvidge with lots of jobs on the go and the remaining few weeks of 2014 are proving no different.

One of our most demanding projects is taking place in West Oxford where we are currently carrying out demolition duties on the former Halfords and MFI store in Botley Road in preparation for the creation of a new branch of Waitrose.

We anticipate that demolition of the building will be completed by the end of the year ahead of the site being redeveloped into a 24,500 sq. ft. store before it officially opens next autumn.

The demolition process commenced last week when the roof was detached from the existing structure courtesy of our 47-tonne excavator.
