Health, safety and well-being is always the most important goal. That is our mission, as we continue to deliver our quality assured, safe and, environmentally conscious demolition and decommissioning services around the world.

Whilst we are proud to be at the forefront of Health and Safety in our industry, we are always striving to go that one step further. Through our initiatives, such as Safe Hands, we are committed to backing up the company ethos, to further train and educate individuals regarding Health and Safety practice.

We operate under an Integrated Management System (IMS) that addresses all elements of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) management. This system is audited by a UKAS approved audit organization, and we are certified to BS EN ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.

These principle were formed, and embedded, across our divisions, ensuring every project highlights our dedication to continual development of our company and the people within it.

Hughes & Salvidge’s Safety Leadership Event in Portugal embeds why SHEQ matters

Having clocked over 70,000 man-hours with a zero-injury rate, it was great to host a Safety Leadership Event on our project in the Matosinhos Refinery, Portugal.

At the end of 2025, the on-site team sat down with our partners to discuss common aims, and celebrate globally recognised, best in class safe working practices.

Seeing the project team unite around a single focus, keeping people safe, was genuinely inspiring on this Refinery Demolition Project. Safety is never just a box to be ticked; it’s a shared culture, a collective mindset, and a commitment that guides every decision on site.

Moments like this reinforce what strong safety leadership really means: working collaboratively across teams, openly sharing best practices, and constantly challenging ourselves to do better every day. We are proud to deliver teams that puts safety first, always.
