Imation House Bracknell

A multi-storey office block with concrete intermediate floors. Consisting of offices, meeting rooms, auditorium, projection room and plant room.  The building had partitioning, shelving, unwanted equipment, items and redundant plant. Asbestos was removed and then soft stripped prior to structural demolition.

The steel framed plant room at roof level had a significant quantity of air-conditioning units. All plant was decommissioned and degassed prior to structural demolition, then removed by excavators as demolitions progressed.  All arisings processed for scrap and maximum recycling.

Woolston Riverside

Hughes & Salvidge and EDSR working in partnership with BAM Nutttall on this landmark regeneration site. The former Vosper Thorneycroft Shipyard in Southampton, is a strategic regeneration for the client SEEDA (South East of England Development Agency).

The scheme involved deconstruction of predominantly pre-stressed concrete structures and an iconic quayside crane. The 13 hectare site was a testament to proactive involvement between client Main Contactor and subcontactors.

The breaking out, crushing and screening of redundant hardstanding was conducted by another Demolition Group member company K & B Crushers Ltd.

Hughes & Salvidge’s holding company, Demolition Group Limited, enables a one stop shop for demolition, remediation, concrete crushing and recycling. Our target recycle re-use of demolition arisings is circa 95%.

MOD Garrison

Project Allenby/Connaught is the Ministry of Defence's PFI contract to redevelop four Army garrisons across Salisbury Plain and Aldershot.

Old, poorly maintained buildings are being demolished to make way for new living and working accommodation, plus new leisure/recreational facilities to make soldiers lives better.

Aspire Defence is delivering the project and has awarded us the multi-million pound demolition programme through competitive tender.

Our Site Manager was awarded the Individual Winner of the Year 2007 in Aspire Defence Capital Works, “Safety First, Always”, Scheme.

Their 2009 Special Environmental Recognition award was recently presented to us in acknowledgement of the special efforts we made during the demolition of approx. 70 buildings, including a 12 storey tower block in Aldershot.

The client’s requirements for maximising recycling of demolition arisings has been satisfied with around 97%.
